But symptoms arenโt proof that your body is failingโtheyโre messages.ย
Symptoms are communication from your faithful body, using the only โalphabetโ it knows, and protecting you in the meantime.
Common Symptoms and What They Mean:
- Fever:ย The โregularโ human body temperature is nice and cozy for many bugs. To defend itself and kill off bacteria and viruses, your body raises its temperature. Very clever! Think about it โ the next time a guest overstays their welcome, simply change the thermostat in your home to make them uncomfortable and see how quickly they leave!
- Vomiting:ย Natureโs least subtle way of saying,ย โNope, not today.โย Itโs your body’s emergency eject button for toxins and pathogens. Awful? Yes. Effective? Also, yes.
- Diarrhea:ย The high-speed evacuation plan your gut initiates when it wants troublemakersย outโimmediately. Not glamorous, but it gets the job done.
- Sneezing:ย A full-bodyย ka-boomย to blast out whatever unwelcome particles wandered into your nose. Bonus points if it surprises you mid-conversation.
- Coughing:ย Like your lungs calling customer service to clear out mucus, dust, and random airborne nonsense. Expect a lot of “hold music” if you’re under the weather.
- Runny Nose:ย Your bodyโs way of power-washing out germs. Annoying, but better out than in, right?
- Sweating:ย A detox process disguised as overheating. Whether itโs a workout, a sauna, or just an awkward moment in a meetingโyour skin is handling business.
- Fatigue:ย Your bodyโs polite (or sometimes aggressive) way of saying,ย โSit down. Be quiet. Let me fix this.โย Listen to it.
- Swelling/Injury Inflammation:ย Your immune systemโs version of a construction crew rushing to the scene. Might look dramatic, but itโs all part of the repair process.
