You know those days when you wake up tired, your body feels like it’s staging a mutiny, and even your coffee seems to be judging you?

Yeah, me too.

The health struggle is real and managing it all can feel like a full-time job.

But here’s the thing: your body is already working its butt off to heal itself.

It just needs the right support.

Over the years, I’ve tried it all—the weird gadgets, the overpriced supplements, even the “gurus” who promised to fix me in three easy steps.

Spoiler alert: a lot of it was total crap.

But I did find some absolute gems—tools that are affordable, accessible, and ridiculously effective.

These tools have changed my life (and the lives of my clients).

Today, I’m pulling back the curtain on my top picks.

Whether you’re tackling parasites, mold, detox, drainage, or just trying to feel like yourself again, these tools are game changers.

Let’s get started, because feeling like crap isn’t your destiny—it’s just your starting point.

Tapping (Emotional Freedom Technique)

Let’s begin our round-up with a free, multi-purpose tool.

Healing isn’t just about what’s happening in your body; it’s about releasing old emotional patterns, too.

That’s where tapping comes in.

This technique combines gentle tapping on acupressure points on the head, face, and body with affirmations to release stuck emotions and rewire your nervous system.

To get started, all you need is a quiet space.

Focus on the issue you’re facing, use two fingers to tap gently on each point around five to seven times, and say positive affirmations.

The science?

Tapping has been shown to reduce cortisol levels, the stress hormone that can wreak havoc on your health.

By calming your fight-or-flight response, tapping allows your body to shift into a state of repair and healing.

It can also reduce the perception of chronic pain by decreasing the crosstalk in areas of the brain that modulate pain (13).

It’s a great way to regulate your nervous system and release trauma stored in your body.

I use tapping when I feel stuck, overwhelmed, or anxious.

It’s easy, effective, and you can do it anywhere—even in the car (well, not while you’re driving).

The best part?

You don’t need any fancy equipment.

All you need is a willingness to try, and maybe a little privacy while you’re learning.

It’s like an emotional reset button.

Detox Bath

There’s nothing like sinking into a detox bath to unwind after a long day.

The combination of ingredients does wonders for muscle tension, but here’s the bonus: it also helps draw toxins out through your skin, which is your largest detox organ.

Here’s my go-to Detox Bath Recipe (EBB):

  • 2 cups Epsom Salt (Magnesium Sulfate)
  • ½ cup Bentonite Clay
  • ½ cup Borax
  • Combine, fully dissolve in warm bath, and enjoy!

Magnesium is a key player here.

It’s involved in over 300 enzymatic reactions in the body, including those responsible for detoxification, muscle relaxation, blood pressure, DNA synthesis, nerve transmission, and cardiac excitability  (1, 3).

When absorbed through the skin and hair follicles (1), magnesium can relax your muscles, calm your nervous system, and enhance your body’s ability to eliminate waste.

Bentonite clay is another powerhouse ingredient.

It’s a natural clay mineral that originates from volcanic ash (17). Thank you, Mother Nature!

Bentonite works like a magnet for toxins, binding to heavy metals and other impurities so they can be washed away.

It is anti-inflammatory and anti-aging, aids in wound-healing, absorbs oils, protects against UV radiation, and improves skin hydration and elasticity (17). Yes, please!

Adding borax to your detox bath can further support the removal of unwanted chemicals and promote soft, healthy skin.

It’s also a great antioxidant (15).

Essential oils like lavender or eucalyptus are excellent additions, offering calming effects and additional antimicrobial benefits.

This makes detox baths an effective way to assist your lymphatic system, which is responsible for moving toxins out of your body.

Science meets self-care—it doesn’t get better than that.

Coffee Enemas

Okay, I know what you’re thinking.

Coffee enemas sound… unusual.

You want me to make delicious coffee and put it in my butt?

But hear me out: this ancient practice has been a cornerstone of detox protocols for over 150 years, and for good reasons (6).

It’s one of the most effective ways to support liver detox and bile flow.

Plus, it’s oddly energizing (no, it doesn’t work the same way as drinking coffee) (6, 14).

Actually, the amount of caffeine you absorb from a coffee enema is about 3 ½ times less than what you absorb after drinking coffee (14).

Here’s how it works: coffee enemas stimulate the production of glutathione, your body’s master antioxidant (6).

Glutathione plays a critical role in detoxification by neutralizing free radicals and helping your liver process toxins.

The caffeine in the coffee also dilates blood vessels and bile ducts, improving the flow of bile—a key pathway for eliminating waste from your body.

Studies have shown that coffee enemas can enhance liver enzyme activity, which further aids in the detoxification process.

Additionally, the direct introduction of coffee into the colon activates the parasympathetic nervous system, promoting relaxation and improved gut motility (16).

Some additional benefits?

  • Mechanical Cleansing of the Colon (16): The enema washes out the colon, taking with it impacted feces, food residues, toxic substances, even nests of parasites, yeasty-beasties, and bacteria.
  • Astringent Properties (16): An astringent can “deep clean” the surface layer of skin or (in the case of the colon) the mucous membrane. This top layer of mucus membrane is often loaded with toxins and trapped pathogens – let’s get it out!
  • Increased Peristalsis: Peristalsis refers to the wave-like contractions used by the digestive system to move materials through and out of the system. 
  • Increased pH (alkalinity) of the GI Tract (16): Likely due to enhanced bile flow, the elevated pH makes your gut a less hospitable environment for invaders.
  • Increased selenium and zinc (16): The forms found in coffee enemas are needed, but not well-absorbed if consumed orally. 
  • Palmitic Acid Crystals (16): These crystals are typically removed when using coffee filters (so when making your coffee enema, use cheesecloth or a fine metal mesh strainer). They are powerful glutathione enzyme enhancers and facilitate the detox abilities of coffee enemas.
  • Improved Skin (16): Your body MUST eliminate waste material. If the colon can’t do its job well, then the skin must compensate. This can lead to breakouts, dermatitis, eczema, psoriasis, and other skin conditions. Support the colon, and this reduces the load on your skin.

Don’t knock it till you try it—clients often tell me this one tool has made them feel like they’re getting their life back.

Distilled and Structured Water Plus Minerals

Hydration is a cornerstone of health, but not all water is created equal.

That’s why I rely on distilled water and then “rebuild” it with minerals like ReMagCT Minerals, and ORMUS Earth Minerals.

Adequate levels of trace minerals, like zinc, copper, iron, and selenium, are associated with a reduced risk of cardiovascular disease (11).

So, what is distilled water?

It’s water that has been boiled into vapor and then condensed back into liquid form, leaving behind contaminants like heavy metals, pesticides, and bacteria.

This process ensures you’re drinking the purest water possible.

However, because distillation removes everything—including beneficial minerals—it’s important to add them back in.

Structured water is another layer of hydration optimization.

Structured water has been found to decrease creatinine levels, increase the kidneys filtration, improve excretion, increase parasympathetic activity, and decrease fight-or-flight sympathetic activity (9).

When I first tried red light therapy, I wasn’t sure what to expect.

Now, I’m hooked.

Devices like the Celluma iPro, Celluma Delux, and Celluma Restore deliver targeted wavelengths of light that support cellular repair, reduce inflammation, and boost collagen production.

Here’s the science: red and near-infrared light penetrate your skin to reach the mitochondria, the powerhouses of your cells.

For the science geeks here, red light has wavelengths of 620 to 700 nanometers while near-infrared light has wavelengths of 700 to 1440 nanometers (5).

This light stimulates the production of ATP, the energy currency of your cells, which accelerates healing and regeneration (2).

The technical term for this is “photobiomodulation” or PBM. (This used to be called Low-Level Laser Light Therapy, or LLLT.)

Red light therapy has been shown to increase blood circulation, reduce oxidative stress, and support the repair of damaged tissue (2).

A few other things it can do include (5):

  • Increase Type I collagen
  • Decrease metalloproteinases
  • Improve wrinkles, smoothness, and skin firmness
  • Reduce blemishes
  • Produce new extra-cellular matrix
